Anne E. Jordan

Anne E. Jordan, age 83, passed away, with her family by her side, on Friday, June 9, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 29, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents, Cora “Margaret” and Jesse I. Edwards. Anne attended Jefferson High School, where she was actively involved in Tri Hi Y, a service club, and Shakespeare, a social club. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1957. Anne attended The University of Texas in Austin, where she pursued a degree in elementary education and was an active member of Tri Delta Sorority. Following college, she worked as an elementary school teacher for many years and retired from San Antonio Independent School District. As a teenager, Anne loved listening to music, especially Elvis, in the playroom at 540 Kings Court, and as a young adult she loved going to Las Vegas. During her retirement, Anne enjoyed playing the slots in various casinos and being with family. She especially adored spending time with her grandchildren and loving on her kitties.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Larry Jordan; grandson, Garrett Owen Russell; and brother-in-law, Jerry D. Voyles. Anne is survived by her daughter, Kim Russell (Will) and their children, Travis and Beau (Renae); daughter, Lori Koehler (Scott) and their daughter, Margaret; son, Jay Jordan (Gina) and their children, Megan and Trey; son, Alex Jordan (Raquel) and their children: Sabrina, Olivia, Mia and Anthony; her sister Ellen Voyles; her nephew, Scott Voyles (Kim) and their children, Allie and Taylor; her lifelong friend, first husband and father to Kim and Lori: Owen E. Lancaster III, and her numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank Karen Kosub and the amazing staff at The Forum at Lincoln Heights and Gentiva Hospice nurses, Patti and Roy for their support and compassionate care for our mother.
