

Following a courageous battle with a long illness, Anton Charles "Chuck" Huebinger, peacefully passed from this life on April 2, 2008 at his home in Wimberley, Texas. He was born in Marion, Texas on Feb 24, 1927 to Ernst and Frieda Huebinger. He graduated from Marion High School in 1944 as valedictorian of his class. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he received his BBA in accounting from St. Mary's University in 1950. The youngest of five children, he is survived by his sister Elsie Gessling of Alice, TX and brother Erno Huebinger of Seguin, Tx. He was preceded in death by brother Melvin Huebinger and sister Alice Heidelberg. Chuck married the love of his life, Betty Calogero Huebinger in 1949 and had four children;Vicki and husband Monty Goff of Austin, Patti and husband Mark Anderson of Manistee, MI, Cindy and husband Bob Edwards of Austin, and Tom Huebinger and wife Rebecca of Katy. In addition to his wife and children Chuck is survived by five grandchildren, Katherine Goff, Wes Edwards, Clay Huebinger, Rachael Edwards, and Claire Huebinger. Chuck was the true outdoorsman, filling his life with hunting and fishing on his ranch. He was a valiant man, with a kind heart and gentle spirit. His service to the community included Alhambra, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club and served on the board of Wimberley Institute of Cultures. Chuck and Betty raised their family in Corpus Christi, TX, where he retired as CFO for Memorial Medical Center in 1992. Following retirement, Chuck and Betty moved to Wimberley, TX where they share many great friendships. The family acknowledges their appreciation for the dedication and care provided by Agnes Muldoon, Angels For Elders, and Hope Hospice.
