Antonio Vega, Jr.

Antonio Vega, Jr., age 72, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in San Antonio on August 7, 1949 to Antonio and Elisa Diaz Vega. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. After retiring from a 40 year career as an insurance adjuster with MIC (Motors Insurance Corporation), Tony would often spend his time fishing, tinkering with stuff in the garage, rooting for the Spurs, watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Elias Vega; and sister, Ernestina Arteaga. Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Janie Vega; his step mom, Rosie Vega; children: Antonio Vega, III (Debbie), Paul Michael Vega (Genevieve), Hector Moreno (Marisa), Elizabeth Vega Dorn (Shawn), and Monica Moreno; grandchildren: Zak, Ethan, Connor, Malakai, Ryder, Atticus, Arianna, Reese, Aiden, Sawyer, Damien, and Harrison; great granddaughter, Novalyn; sister, Patricia Ann Vega; brothers, Ruben D. Vega and Daniel Vega (Nancy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary. There will be a procession on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 12:30 p.m from Porter Loring Mortuary with a Mass at 1:00 p.m. at St Josephs Church, 535 New Laredo Hwy., 78211. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
