Areli Rossett, 86, peacefully passed away, surrounded by family on January 13, 2021. After a long battle with dementia, she is finally resting peacefully. Throughout her struggles, her personality continued to shine through with her dancing, love and devotion to her family.
Originally from Yorktown Texas, Areli met her husband of 50 years in a country town dancehall. A few years later they moved to San Antonio, where she completed her Nurse’s Aid certification, and was a Nurse’s Aid for 30 dedicated years. She attended St Gregory’s Catholic Church for many years and Areli would often volunteer with her grandchildren’s schools, receiving accolades and certificates. As an outgoing and active person, she could be seen playing a game of catch with her grandsons and always dancing with a partner that she made smile. She was the most loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed as she is now dancing in Heaven.
Areli was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Rossett; her parents, Antonio and Angela Gonzales. Areli is survived by her daughter, Linda Rossett (John Trevino); grandsons Brandon Rossett and Koa Rossett Bermea; brother Andres Gonzales (Mary); nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Areli will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
