

Arlene Bedford Miller was born on January 26, 1926 on a ranch in Llano County, Texas. She died peacefully, with full assurance of her future with Jesus Christ, on October 18, 2012 at her home in San Antonio with her family around her.
Arlene was a longtime member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where she participated in many ministries and had many friends. She particularly loved cooking with the "Thursday Lunch Bunch", and her small group Bible Study.
Arlene was a lifelong volunteer. In addition to working through her church, she volunteered in her children's schools and in their extra-curricular activities. She also enjoyed her work with Symphony Bridge and the Assistance League of San Antonio. Other interests included quilting, traveling and reading. She especially loved playing in many different bridge groups, and had some friends with whom she played for over 50 years.
Arlene was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Ona Bedford whom she dearly loved, and by a wonderful brother-in-law, Kenneth Pittman.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Knox Miller, Jr. and her only sibling, Maxine Pittman. She is also survived by her children, Elaine Bright and husband Sam, and Stacy Johnson and husband David, as well as her precious grandchildren, Clayton Johnson and wife Callie, Elise Johnson, Amy Johnson, Ben Bright, and Bonnie Bright.
Arlene was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and her many friends.
