

Mr. Gonzales was a 1967 Graduate of Sidney Lanier High School. He attended San Antonio College where he received an Associate Degree. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Campaign. He received The Purple Heart Medal, The National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and The Vietnam Campaign Medal which he achieved as an Expert Rifle Marksman. He was a Post Commander of the VFW Post #9174 for five years. He was also a Commander for District 20 for one year. He was an All State - All American 2019 for the Post 9174. He loved dancing, gambling, hunting, fishing,traveling and spending time with his pet dog, Tebo.
Armando is preceded in death by his late wife, Carmen S. Gonzales; parents, Cipriano J. Gonzales and Juanita Pastrano Gonzales; grandson, Jade A. Sterrett; brother, Jose P. Gonzales.
Mr. Gonzales is survived by his current wife, Virginia Ramirez-Gonzales; children, Armando S. Gonzales Jr., and Yvonne Mata; grandchildren, Celeste A. Gonzales, Alexander J. Gonzales, Desmond M. Santellan, Nicholas Isaac Huerta, Jewel L. Sterrett and Vanessa Gonzales; siblings, Hermelinda Gonzales, Manuel P. Gonzales, Maria E. Diaz and Juanita Gonzales; also, numerous great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm. to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd., followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:45 a.m. Mass of The Resurrection at St. Ann Catholic Church, 210 St. Ann St., San Antonio,TX 78201. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio,TX 78209 at 11:30 a.m. under Army Military Honors.
