Arthur was born July 1, 1949, in Jasper, Texas, and graduated from Silsbee High School in 1967. He attended Lamar University and began his career in retail management with Genesco, Inc. footwear, before joining Frost Bros., first as a buyer and then as manager of the cosmetics department at Frost Bros., North Star Mall. For thirty years, Arthur was a real estate agent, first with the Guy Chipman Company, Realtors, and then with Coldwell Banker DAnn Harper, Realtors.
Arthur was rewarded with many dear friends, who, along with his family, will miss his charm, wit and positive energy. Arthurs true passion was his large circle of friends, and he loyally nurtured and continued friendships from his earliest days in public school through his careers in retail and real estate. Many, many friends have "Arthur quotes" and "Arthur stories" to share and treasure.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Adams, Sr. and Susie Sheffield Adams, his brother, Herman Adams, Jr., his niece, Theresa Forse, his nephew, William Parsons, and is survived by his partner and husband of forty-six years, Wayne Choate, his sisters Kassie Moye of Silsbee, TX and Sue (Roger) Parsons of Athens, TN, and brother, Carl (Amber) Adams, his nieces Margaret (John Morgan) Broussard, Amanda Adams, Ashley (Travis) Dupuis, and Allison (John) Richards, nephews Michael (Cindy) Forse and Charles (Lori) Parsons, great nieces Theresa (Casey) Comstock, Shelley (Shaun) Higgins, Molly Kate Dupuis, Lila Richards and Rachel Montgomery, great nephews Anthony (Annie) Broussard, Cooper Dupuis, Canon Richards and Daniel Forse.
