Arthur J. Gobbeo son of the late Mary De Giandomenico and Frank Gobbeo passed away at his home in San Antonio, Texas on Sept 12, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. with his wife of 65 years, Louise E. Gobbeo, his son, Daniel F. Gobbeo, his daughter-in-law, Sylvia P. Gobbeo and his great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Billalobos at his side.
His is also survived by his son, David A. Gobbeo of Culver City, California. Grandchildren, Monica, Anthony, Robert, & Stephen Gobbeo, Diane & Gilbert Billalobos; great grandchildren, Brian, Dean & Joseph Smith and Reagan Gobbeo.
He was a veteran of World War II and recipiant of the purple heart for injuries sustained in the Italian Front. He was instrumental on organinzing the Sarasota Music Archives in Sarasota, Florida.
His passion in life was his collection of opera recordings which he accumulated over a period of 80 years.
