

Arturo Alonso, Jr., was called home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2024, at the blessed age of 67. He was born August 14, 1956, in San Antonio, TX, to Arturo and Concepcion Alonso. He dedicated a good portion of his life working at Kelly Air Force Base before transferring to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma where he retired.
Mr. Alonso was preceded in death by his father, Arturo Alonso Sr. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 36 years, Mary L. Alonso; children, Alina, Arturo and Anita Alonso; grandchild, Aidan Alonso; mother, Concepcion Alonso; siblings, Maria Esther Cardenas (Gilbert), Maria Elena Alonso, Ana Maria Folks, Daniel Alonso (Gloria), Angela Maria Alonso – Smith (Robert), Lionel Alonso (Margo), Maribel Drew; brother in law, Mario Cantu and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alonso had many hobbies throughout his life. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. After starting a family, he enjoyed volunteering at his children’s school making burgers for sports games. Occasionally, he was found coaching his children’s teams in soccer, basketball, and volleyball. As his children grew more independent he turned to barbecuing, yard work, and festivals for his extracurricular activities. After some time Anita entered his life and they were two peas in a pod and went everywhere together. Later, when Aidan came along, they bonded through their playfulness and humor. Mr. Alonso was a great husband, father, grandfather, son, and sibling and will be greatly missed by all.
