Ashley Rene Jones

Ashley Rene' Jones, 26, lost a long battle against brain cancer on Friday, July 29th. 2011. She was born and raised in Alaska during her early years then spent the rest of her school years in Washington and Florida.

Ashley is survived by her son Aiden John Jones, parents Ron & Teri, big sister Mindy, younger brothers Jesse & James, niece Madison, and a ton of wonderful Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and her faithful Golden Retriever Einstein.

After being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and experiencing the work the radiologist did, she decided to help others in that way and ended up with a degree in radiology. She was hardworking and independent and loved to travel and be with friends and family. She loved the sun and water, snow and mountains, and the magnificent outdoor life of Alaska - - especially flying with her Grampa and Gramma John and Dolly Graybill.

She will be remembered as the strongest and most dignified young woman we have ever known. She never complained and rarely even acknowledged the constant pain she endured. She was truly an inspiration to everyone who had the good fortune to meet her.

The greatest accomplishment and love of her entire life was motherhood. Little Aiden is now 2 years and 5 months old. All of us who have survived her (and Aiden's best friend Einstein) vow to ensure her love and devotion to her son will live on.

Private funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4th at Alaska Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 South Check Street, Wasilla. Directly following the Burial Service at Sacred Heart in Wasilla will be a Celebration of Life at the residence of Ronnie and Cindy Vitt on Carpenter Lake.
