With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Audelia Hernandez Rendon, who departed this life peacefully on October 16, 2025, just five days shy of her 94th birthday. She was surrounded by her loving family, a reflection of the warmth and devotion she so freely gave throughout her life.
Audelia was a woman who found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved her daily Novelas, cherished her time at the Alice Treviño Center, and spent countless peaceful hours crocheting. But above all, her heart was fullest during the holidays, when her family would gather, generations together, all touched by her love and strength.
She now joins in eternal rest her beloved husband, Guadalupe F. Rendon; her son, Richard Rendon Sr.; grandsons, Richard Rendon Jr. and Ronnie Rendon; and her parents, Juan and Aurelia Cruz Hernandez.
Left to honor her memory are her devoted children: Patsy R. Garza (Carlos), Guadalupe R. Martinez (Robert), Graciela R. Ortiz (Robert PID), Sarah J. Rendon-Pesina (Frank PID), John Rendon (Maricela), Edward Rendon (Yvette), and Josephine R. Barron; along with 31 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved siblings: Marina Arellano, Alicia Salas, Adela Rocha, Margie Cantù, Rogelio Hernandez, and Robert Hernandez; as well as countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Holy Savior Hospice, and to her dedicated caregivers, Rachel Villarreal, Sylvia Rendon, and Irma Mendez, for the loving care and support they provided during Audelia’s final days.
Audelia’s legacy is one of unwavering love, quiet strength, and a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
