The second son of Ashley and Ryan Runnels, little Avery was born at Main Methodist Hospital here in San Antonio, Texas, on November 29, 2016. Weighing in at 6 pounds, 9 ounces and 19.5 inches long, his birth brought tremendous joy to his entire family. Unfortunately, Avery entered this world with a heart condition that precipitated a number of serious complications. Despite the heroic efforts of Methodist's doctors and NICU staff, our precious boy succumbed to kidney and liver failure after a valiant eight-day struggle. Avery was truly a courageous fighter.
Avery is survived by his parents, Ashley and Ryan Runnels, and two-year-old brother, Chase. His adoring paternal grandparents, Joanne and Mark Runnels, and doting maternal grandmother, Linda Hall, also mourn his passing. Additionally, Avery will be sorely missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a proud great grandfather, Paul Vigneault.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Porter Loring North Mortuary, 2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, Texas 78232, on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10:00 am.
