The last survivor of the nine children born to Dr. and Mrs. L.L. Cockerell, Babette grew up in Athens, Texas and graduated at age nineteen from University of North Texas with a degree in business administration.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, Dr. J. Walter Park, III and her eldest son J. Walter Park IV.
She was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. With her dear group of friends she volunteered for over fifty years at its thrift shop, The Green Door. She was always a colorful character, sassy in her high heels.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Patty and Robert Hayes, Robert and Katy Park, Suzanne and Tim Wooten; her grandchildren, Babette and Scott Hildebrand, Stephanie and Matt Matthews, Hunter and Elizabeth Hale, Nicole, Rachael and Walter Park, Laura and Andrew Park and Timmer and James Wooten; and great grandchildren, Knox Matthews and Caroline, Lauren and George Hale and Haley Hilderbrand.
