

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Otilia Black and her beloved Pomeranian, Picadilly.
Barbara is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 30 years, Mark Black; son, Joshua Black and wife, Kimberly; parents, Jesus and Dolores Canales; siblings, Mark Canales and wife, Jessica, Denise Canales, Todd Canales and wife, Angie, Leticia Sullivant and husband, Duane, Jason Canales and wife, Kristy and Aaron Canales; father-in-law, Santiago Black; brother-in-law, Matthew Black and wife, Jonette; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and spoiled frequently.
Barbara will be forever loved and remembered as a truly kind and caring person, always generous of spirit. Most of all, Barbara will be remembered as forever loving and deeply committed to her family and friends.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 21st at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located at 8134 Blanco Rd. The internment of her ashes will be at a later date in Austin, TX in a private setting. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Child Advocates San Antonio and/or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
