

Barbara Jan Easter Bowker passed away April 2, 2022. Barbara was born in Fort Worth, TX to Howard and Ethel Evans Easter on September 15, 1939. When Barbara was a teenager her family moved to San Angelo TX. She graduated from San Angelo High School and took college courses in San Angelo and San Antonio. It was in San Angelo Barbara met the love of her life, Sam Bowker, and they began their life together.
While Sam was a Hospital Administrator in the United States Air Force, Barbara & Sam and family lived in several states and in Germany. Barbara was a busy AF wife and mother to their two children, Craig and Cynthia. She was a volunteer at her childrens schools and was also a volunteer at several military hospitals. Barbara was involved in the Officers Wives Club where she held board positions in Maine and in Germany. She was also involved in Medical Wives Club. She had a 13 year career working for the Harding-Conley-Drawert-Tinch Insurance Agency in San Antonio where she was in the Bond Department. After retiring from the Air Force, Barbara and Sam made San Antonio and then Shavano Park TX their home. She loved being with people and enjoyed her neighborhood bunco group, a bridge group, a Medical Wives group and a birthday group. Barbara and Sam enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states, 29 foreign countries and 6 islands.
She was very proud of her children and her grandsons. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Lt. Colonel Charles S. (Sam) Bowker USAF, MSC (Ret.), her two children, Craig Bowker and wife Gayle of San Antonio Texas and Cynthia Tucker and husband Benson of Burleson TX. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Sammy Bowker and Nicholas Bowker, their mother, Donna Romine, sister-in-law Patsy Easter, sister-in-law Kay Easter, several nieces and nephews and their families and her Godson, Alexander Kampschmidt. Barbara is predeceased by her parents, son-in-law Roger Minor, sister Zonita Thompson, brothers Larry Easter and LaRoy Easter and brother-in-law Walter Thompson.
