Barbara Ann Coleman, age 71, died on Friday, September 07, 2001. Barbara was born in Winfield, a small town in southeast Iowa. She was the salutatorian of her high school graduation class and, as a senior, was a member of the high school sextet that won the national championship. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant Iowa, and was the president of her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, during her junior year. She transferred to the U. of Iowa for her senior year and graduated with a degree in speech pathology. Barbara was active in the Coker United Methodist Church and was a member of the Life Circle where she had many friends. She enjoyed travel and over the years visited nearly every major country in Western Europe at least once. She also visited China, Thailand, and Bali. Her primary love, however, was always her family and her home. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill; three children, Teresa Weaver of Las Vegas, Nevada, William Coleman of Prosper, Texas, and Karen Mann of Richardson, Texas; six grandchildren, Amy, Scott, and Becca Weaver; Michael and Christi Coleman; and Thomas and Molly Mann; as well as her brother, Richard Van Vranken of El Segundo, CA.
