Barbara "Babs" Schnitzer, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in San Antonio on November 23, 1944, to parents Joe and Maxine Hyman. Babs was a remarkable volunteer for a vast number of programs during her life and a longtime member of the Agudas Achim Synagogue and Agudas Achim Sisterhood which she loved tremendously. She was a friend to many and loved her phone chats with her wide circle of friends. But most of all, Babs was a fierce supporter of her immediate family and a loving mother. Her big heart and kind disposition were her trademarks. She never met a stranger and made friends with everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents. Babs is survived by her former husband and still friend Stephen Schnitzer, her son David Schnitzer, grandchildren, Allie Schnitzer and Josh Schnitzer, her loving cat Chloe, friend and former sister-in-law Phyliss Cole and her children, sisters Cindy, Sherry, their children, cousins, and numerous friends. The family would like to thank her neighbors, caregivers, the staff at Methodist Stone Oak, her nurse Jack, and Annette Oholendt - all of whom looked after her recently and through the years. Her absence leaves a large void. May her memory be a blessing.
