'My condolences to Mrs. Brown's family. I recall her both when I was a student at JFK and later on as principal at Memorial HS. She leaves an outstanding legacy with her career as an educator and the students that she served.'

'I met Bea Brown on August 16, 1971 (my first day as a teacher) at John F Kennedy High School. I was hired to be the registrar and also to teach a senior Creative Writing elective. Bea became my mentor and her supportive guidance is the single most important reason why year 1 for me was followed by years 2 through 39. I would not have continued in the profession without her mentorship. She was a lady's lady, a true gentle spirit, who cared for everyone she worked with. We kept in touch over the years via Christmas cards. I am truly grateful to have known her and I will miss her dearly. Heaven has a new angel.'

'I taught at JFK from 1970-81 and remember Bea Brown as a quiet, gentle, lady-like, and efficient professional. She was liked and respected by the faculty and the students she served so well. My sympathy to her family-- I know she was a special person who will be missed.'
