Beatrice M. Garcia

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts to announce the peaceful passing of Beatrice M. Garcia, age 93, on November 8, 2024. Born on May 10, 1931, in San Antonio, to Mary Romero and Crisoforo Marinez, Beatrice led a life full of love and devotion to her family. She was the cherished wife of the late Wilfred Charles “Bebe” Garcia and a devoted mother to her eight children and her great-grandson, David Edward Medina, Jr.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her kind-hearted grandfather Joe Isaac Romero, eldest son Wilfred C. Garcia, Jr. and her three grandsons Vance Phillips, Richard Isaac Flores and Nathan Lee Mullinax. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Joe “Jody” Marinez and Victor “Duke” Almaraz.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Beatrice Flores, Sylvia Heitczman (James), the late Wilfred Charles Garcia, Jr. (Susan), Norma Jean Hayes, David George Garcia (Patricia), Lynda Juliana Ramirez (Richard), Edward Adam Garcia (Clementina), and Santa Garcia Mullinax (Jose Diego Cortez). Her 15 grandchildren also remain to cherish her memory: Brenda Marie Flores Nelson, Manuel De La Rosa, III, Jeffrey Roy Huerta, Katherine Elaine Garcia Gonzalez, Lauren Michelle Garcia Cazares, Erika Medina De La Garza, David Edward Medina, Rebecka Joan Hayes, David George Garcia, Patrick Henry Garcia, Christina Marie Garcia, Elaine Adelle Garcia Bock, Edward Adam Garcia, Jr., Charles Lewis Mullinax and Maria Chantal Mullinax.

Her 29 great-grandchildren who were such a great joy in her life also survive her: Thomas Richard Nelson, Olivia Lynn Flores, Duncan Lee Mann, Nicholas Sage De La Rosa, Theadore Reign De La Rosa, Tracker Love De La Rosa, Dallas Roy Huerta, Layla Rose Huerta, Margaret Grace Huerta, Skylar Renae Gonzales, Wilfred David Casares, James Dalton Casares, David Anthony Medina, Derrik Andrew De La Garza, Danielle Angelina De La Garza, Cecilio Petronilo De La Garza, Madilyn Alexandrea De La Garza, David Edward Medina, Jr., Matthew Diego Medina, Melody Medina, Autumn Rose Medina, Azalee Milae Flores, Kylo Jardani Garza, Avery Noel Garcia, Ember Adelle Bock, Justin Warren Bock, Charles Lewis Mullinax, Jr., Shyann Arianna De La Rosa, Nathan Logan Hernandez

Grandma Bea leaves behind 4 great-great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy: Vada Jean De La Rosa, Delaney Rivers De La Garza, Chloe Sepulveda and Camila Sepulveda.

She is also survived by her sister Santa Almaraz Solis and brother Frank Almaraz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beatrice, in her late teens, met the love of her life, Wilfred “Bebe” Garcia, when she was reintroduced to Bebe by her brother, Jody, at a party while at San Pedro Park. It had been years since Bebe had seen her and Beatrice was now all grown up. It was love at first sight for both, and shortly after meeting again, they were married on September 18, 1949. Beatrice and Bebe became parents to eight children and were happily married for over fifty-two years. Beatrice was a loyal employee and worked for many years at McDougall Cleaners on Broadway Street before retiring in the early 1990’s.

Beatrice was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, who dedicated her entire life to the well-being and happiness of her family. She was the heart of her home, always putting others before herself. Her unconditional love was a source of comfort and strength for the Garcia family and those touched by her gentle spirit. The family is comforted knowing that Beatrice has been reunited with her loved ones and is in the arms of her true love, Bebe, once again.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
