Beatrice Joan Jones

Beatrice (Bea) Jones Passed away peacefully in Windcrest, Texas at the age of 88. She is now in the loving hands of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Hallettsville, Lavaca County, Texas to the late Cecilia Capaka Starustka and Julius Charles Starustka.

Bea started her education in a three classroom school in Breslau, Texas from 1st through 8th grade and eventually graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1954 and immediately moved to San Antonio with her life long friend Lily Loth to attend Draughon's Business College. She then went to work for small appliance store in downtown San Antonio for a couple months and then worked 37 years for the U.S. Army at Fort Sam Houston in word processing at the Academy of Health Science. In 1960 she took off to begin her family until her two boys started middle school. She then went back to Fort Sam to finish her career with the Army's Fifth Recruiting Brigade, retiring in May 2004.

Bea is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Leroy Jones; sons Richard Jones his wife Theresa; and Steve Jones. Grandchildren Colleen and Nolan Jones and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother Vincent Starustka. In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held, Sunday, March 16 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service: Monday March 17, Rosary 11:00, Mass 11:30 Saint John Neumann 6680 Crestway Drive, San Antonio Texas 78239. Interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, Texas.
