Belinda (Bennie) Kay Bezpalko 70, died peacefully on January 11, 2022, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas surrounded in love by three of her daughters. She was born in Salem, Missouri, on January 6, 1952, to Calvin Henry "Cal" Cavender and Betty Lou Mason.
Belinda grew up in central Missouri before joining the United States Air Force to faithfully serve her country for 21 years. She retired as a Master Sergeant. Upon retiring from the Air Force, she pursued her education at San Antonio College obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and going on to serve her community for many years as a registered nurse.
Belinda loved to do crafts, bake, and experiment with new recipes in her spare time. She was always up for a rowdy game of Aggravation or a spirited hand of Uno where the loser got the joy of doing the dishes! She hated flying but loved to take road trips to see the true beauty of the country. She had a very giving heart. During the holidays she hosted many military members who were unable to make it home to be with their own families. In fact, this is how she met her soul mate, Jerry Bezpalko while hosting his son Joe who was going through basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Belinda and Jerry married in 1987 and spent 33 glorious years making a life together blending their families into one. Benny and Jerry felt blessed to have found each other. Family was the most important thing to both of them. All they ever wanted was for their family to be well and for them to find joy and happiness. Belinda and Jerry were extremely proud of their children and grandchildren. They supported them however they could and strongly encouraged academic excellence, especially to their grandchildren.
Leading by example, they taught the true core values of life: to live, laugh, love, serve and have faith. They invested the greatest gift of themselves in everyone they met, selflessly giving back, whether it be volunteering or engaging someone who looked like they were in need, offering a helping hand and wishing them well.
Belinda is preceded in death by her parents Calvin Cavender and Betty Lou Mason, her twin sister Melinda Fay Cavender, brother Michael Ray Cavender, her beloved husband, Jaroslaw "Jerry" Bezpalko, and her son Daniel Joseph Bezpalko.
Surviving Belinda are her brother Roger Dale Cavender (Arlene), her children Joseph (Yulia), Michelle Vega (Donaciano), Stephen (Jennifer), Kimberly Jones (Michael), Catherine Ditri (Damiano "Dino"), Johnnie-Belinda Guerrero (John), and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
