Belinda Martinez Gonzales, affectionately known as “Bel,” entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on September 13, 2024 at the tender age of 60. She was born on August 13, 1964 in Robstown, Texas to Rosa Gray and Jesus Martinez.
Belinda had a deep affection for nature, tending to her plants with the same care she showed her loved ones, and she found joy in taking care of birds. Bel adored her dogs Poppy and Pablo, and treated them as part of her family, finding comfort in their companionship.
Bel valued the importance of creating a nurturing environment, and she took pride in maintaining a warm and welcoming home for her family. Bel was a cherished wife, mother, and friend to many. She had an innate gift for caregiving, nurturing not only her family but anyone in need. Her heart was open to all, and she took many under her wing, treating them as her own children. Family was everything to Bel, and she dedicated her life to ensuring that those around her felt loved and cared for.
Her natural caregiving extended beyond her household, as she built a long and fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). For over 20 years, Bel worked in hospice and hospitals, offering compassion and care to those in need. After her retirement in 2017, she left behind a legacy of kindness and dedication, impacting the lives of both her family and the patients she lovingly cared for.
Bel will be reunited in heaven with her son, Brian Jacob Gonzales; father, Jesus Martinez; sister, Sylvia Martinez; brother, Rolando Martinez; grandparents; and extended family that paved the way for her.
Her memory will forever live in her loving husband, Johnny Gonzales; mother, Rosa Martinez; children, J.J. Gonzales (Alexandra), Jason Gonzales (Jessica), Aaron Michael Gonzales (Victoria), and Christopher Gonzales (Olivia). Siblings, Anna Ortiz (Michael), Roel Martinez; grandchildren, Caleb, Jasmin, Anastashia, Serenity “Boogie”, Jacob, Jordan, Jadelyn; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and those who were once strangers but became cherished members of her extended family.
Belinda’s love, care, and generosity touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
