Benito Rodriguez Cavazos

Ben Cavazos of The Woodlands, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, surrounded by his family. Ben was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Texas A&I University with a Bachelor of Business degree and earned his MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University where he also completed his coursework for a PhD in Leadership Studies.

While San Antonio was always considered home, Ben moved many times over the years to different cities and countries as Sales Vice President with AT&T, where he worked for 24 years. For several years, Ben served as National President of the Hispanic Employee Association of AT&T, fostering an environment for minorities to succeed personally and professionally through networking, volunteering and scholarship opportunities. Ben also held a leadership position with the non-profit Hispanic Scholarship Fund, providing resource education and scholarships to encourage higher education.

After completing a successful career in the corporate environment, Ben turned his attention to academia, teaching business and marketing courses to undergraduate and graduate students as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston. Ben had a passion for teaching and mentoring young adults to empower them to achieve their highest potential.

Ben is survived by his long time partner of 27 years, Rosemary Sofia; his two children, Jesse Cavazos and Jennifer Cavazos; his brother, Don Cavazos; his sister, Mary Lou Cavazos; his three grandchildren, John Michael, London and Eli; and beloved extended family.

Ben’s Life Celebration will include visitation on May 1st, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary West located at 1710 West Loop 1604 N, San Antonio, TX 78251. A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on May 2nd, 2024 at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located at 8134 Blanco Road in San Antonio.
