Bernice Verniel Fazio was born on November 25, 1943, in Grand Forks, ND to Lawrence and Mary Huard. She had three siblings: Don, Mary, and Judy. From her earliest years, she was known for her warmth, resilience, and gentle spirit. Growing up in North Dakota, she developed a strong sense of family and community that would remain central to her life.

In 1967, Bernice married Tony Fazio, forging a partnership built on love, devotion, and shared dreams. Together they raised two sons — Brett and Scott —instilling in them the values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. The family lived in La Palma, CA until 1977 when the family moved to Northshore, a subdivision of Houston, TX, due to Tony's work. In Houston, Bernice gained two daughters-in-law - Amanda and Stacey - whom she loved as her own. Tony passed away in 1999.
Bernice moved to Clear Lake, TX and, in 2005, married Tony Juneau until his passing in 2006. She then lived in Kemah, TX up until very recently when she moved to San Antonio to be closer to Scott and Stacey. Bernice was in a loving relationship with Richard Slonaker until her passing due to complications with pneumonia.
Bernice took great joy in her role as a mother and grandmother, cherishing every milestone and memory with her grandchildren Jagger and Lillie. Her home was always a place of welcome, where family and friends gathered for meals, celebrations, and heartfelt conversations where she was a wonderful listener.
