Bethany Hancock

She was a person of light, hope and inspiration, and she was loved by everyone who met her.

Born and raised in Bulverde, Bethany also had many close ties to the wide San Antonio area.

She gave much of herself and creativity to special activities in the area. At just 22 years, she worked as Banquet Manager at Alamo Café. She next became the most productive Events Coordinator in the area for Michaels, craft store. At that time, she became a regular on WOAI's San Antonio Living as their "Craft Queen" and volunteered to lead craft activities at churches and nursing homes. She also worked for the Protocol School of Texas. She then became a Wedding and Events planner in the Medina Lake area.

Most recently, Bethany had joined the sales staff of Prime Time Incorporated Newspapers, speaking daily of the respect and affection she already had for her co-workers there.

Bethany was a member of Bulverde Baptist Church, grew up active in the Youth Group and even as a young teen taught Sunday School.

A 1995 graduate of Smithson Valley High School, Bethany attended San Antonio Christian Schools from 1st - 8th grades. She completed the 2 year course of General Studies at SAC.

She is survived by her beloved son, Coleman; mother, Sandy Willis Hancock; father, Dale Hancock; sister, Rachel Hancock; brother, Trey Hancock; uncles and aunts, Sam and Merlene Willis San Antonio, Sue and Harvey Schneider Yoakum, Gary Hancock St. Hedwig; cousins, Pam and Charlie Smith Bulverde, Joe Willis San Antonio, Lisa Schneider Austin, Kevin Schneider Yoakum, Brian Hancock San Antonio; numerous other loved relatives.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Dale Hancock, Jr.; beloved grandparents, George and Ann Willis; and grandmother, Ranita Hancock Chambers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the memorial fund at Bulverde Baptist Church, 1331 Bulverde Road, Bulverde, Texas 78163.
