On Monday , March 21st, 2022, my dad, Humberto, or known to everyone as Beto, quietly passed on after fighting the ravages of age and illness. Born in Segundo Barrio of El Paso, the hard scrabble environment shaped him into a person who fought and worked hard for a life that brought personal and business success. He was a Korean War era US Marine, and was justifiably proud of his service. In civilian life, he married the former Genevieve Cowan, Genny to all their relations and friends, and celebrated sixty six years of marriage. Dad was a successful El Paso businessman and was senior partner of Ideal Industrial Electronics Co. After retiring, Beto and Genny moved to San Antonio, enjoying many years of retirement. He is survived by Genny, two sons; Gilbert, his wife Paula, of Washington DC; Michael, his wife Melissa, of Ft. Worth, Texas. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service by Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N Loop 1604 E. San Antonio, Texas on April 25, 2022. Visitation 8am -9am, memorial service 9am-10am. Internment at Ft. Sam Houston Military Cemetery in San Antonio at 11am.
