Mrs. Betty Coselli Berchelmann

Betty Coselli Berchelmann, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 7, 1927, in Galveston, Texas, to parents, Odus and Julius Coselli. She was a proud first-generation Italian and a member of The Italian Club of San Antonio. She was also in the Conservation Society, a docent for the symphony, in The Garden Club, and most importantly, a member of The Queen of Peace Guild.

She was a remarkable mother and grandmother. Her home was a refuge. She had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued. It was also just a fun place to be! Much of that was because of her! She was a model of faith, hope, and love. We have been blessed by her presence in our lives, and she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 64 years, John Anthony Berchelmann; daughter, Betty Jeanette Berchelmann; sister, June Walsh; granddaughter, Kristin Plemmons; and her great-grandson, Nicholas Gabriel Berchelmann.

Betty is cherished beyond measure by her children: John Berchelmann (Lynn), Chris Berchelmann (Judy), and Kathleen Schwartz (Mitch), her sister Marjorie Coselli, grandchildren; Ryan Berchelmann, Elissa Turner (Nick), Lindsay Tschirhart (Trevor), Blake Plemmons, Stephanie Desenberg (Austin), Samantha Schwartz (Sean Liebman), Summer Rachal (Zachary), and her great-grandchildren: Andres Berchelmann, Rex Berchelmann, Nash Turner, Pierce Turner, Paxton Turner, Stella Tschirhart, and Parker Liebman.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz, San Antonio, Texas, 78209. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78266.
