Billie Sue Thacker Bush, 94, died Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she resided for the past five years. Billie was born May 29, 1927 in Oil City, Louisiana to George W and Susan R Thacker. She grew up in a large family on a farm in Oil City. December 1948 she married Guy Carson Bush. They raised two daughters, Patricia and Elaine, and one son, Dennis.
Billie never met a stranger and was known for her quick wit. She lived in San Antonio, Texas for thirty years and in the 1980s she served as a volunteer at the San Antonio VA hospital. She enjoyed watching movies, doing crossword puzzles, playing canasta with friends, and doing crafts, especially crocheting.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband (October 1988), and five siblings. She is survived by her children, one older sister, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the National Kidney Foundation.
