

Lt. Col Billy French Blankenship, USAF Ret. age 75 of San Antonio, TX, previously of Natchez, MS, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 12, 2002 in San Antonio. He was the son of Offa Allen Blankenship, Pearle Jones McIntosh and Lane McIntosh. LtCol Blankenship served as a Fire Fighter in the Navy Seabees during World War II and a pilot in the USAF until his retirement. After his military career, he worked with McIntosh Blankenship Confectionery Brokerage prior to his employment as the Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department for the City of Natchez, from which he retired. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marguerite; daughters, Teresa Terri B. Reed and husband Major Steven N. Reed, San Antonio; Denise K. Blankenship, Kansas City, MO; son, Richard L. Blankenship, Houston; special daughter, Brenda Savage Kansas City; grandsons, D. Russell Atwell, Jr. Kansas City, Steven B. Reed, San Antonio, Aaron Michael Blankenship and his mother Adriene, Houston; granddaughter, Amy M. Reed, San Antonio; sisters, Betty M. Milton and her husband Earl, Dallas and Peggy B. Patton and her husband Dearl, Elmore, AL; brother Johnnie A. Blankenship and his wife Verbie Alexander City, AL; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
