

Bobbie Lee Sander, Jr. “June” was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Bobbie Lee Sr. and Mary Ellen Sanders on Oct. 03, 1957. He graduated from Central High. He worked as a machine operator and in the maintenance dept. for Lacks, UTSA, and Hilltop Elem. for numerous years. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and Iraq War. June served in the Marines, Army, and Army National Guard (anti-tank asstman, rifle sharpshooter, combat engineer, and chemical operations specialist). June was part of the Army National Guard that deployed to the Centennial Olympic Park bombing. June’s favorite pastime was fishing and listening to music.
June is preceded in death by his parents Bobbie Lee Sr. and Mary Ellen Sanders and brother George “Tommy” Sanders.
Bobbie Lee Sanders, Jr. “June” is survived by daughter: Barbara L. Sanders, grandsons: Ronin and Rylin Fontelroy, goddaughter: Elizabeth Castillo, 1st wife: Marcela Rivera, ex-wife: Cherlynn Sanders, step-children: Dontay Rodgers, Lavonne Singh, Ikea Fountain, step-grandchildren, brothers: Raymond Trotter, Kenneth Sanders, Greg Sanders, Michael Sanders, Richard Sanders, sisters: Barbara Nabors, Sharon Dixon, Gretta Sanders, and Patricia Sanders. June leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronin Fontelroy, Rylin Fontelroy, Eddie J. Castillo, Troy Proctor, Dion Torres, Rashaard Fontelroy, Dontay Rodgers, Kenneth Sanders.
Visitation will be 6p-8p April 24th, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon on April 25, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home with the Pastor Emmitt A. Trotter officiating.
Burial will follow at Ft. Sam National Cemetery. Repass will be at 1017 E. Mulberry St. San Antonio, TX 78209 following
