Bonnie was my great friend and store manager for Just Kids in Artisans Alley...she was such a great people person -everyone loved her- and a trustworthy employee and a true friend..I will miss her greatly...my love and prayers go to her family...

We always enjoyed talking with Bonnie. She seemed so enthusiastic and excited about life. I'm sure she's one of the angels in heaven watching over us. May God be with the family in their sorrow.

My little sister; Bonnie, always viewed the glass half full. From early on she was full of life and always ready for adventure. She was very much in love with her husband John,and he her. She loved her daughter with all her heart and was a proud grandmother. Her grand children were always spoken of during our conversations, and you could imagine her beaming as she told stories about them. She called Cole her "little man", and Molly was "little miss Molly". She loved going on trips with John and had just told me about their last trip to Curisol and the wonderful time they spent together. Bonnie told me in a conversation the week before her death that she realized "you have to live every day as if it's your last". I'll never forget those words, and I'll even try to be a little more adventurous like her. She did love life and didn't waste a moment of it! If I wasn't at home when she called she would leave a message: "Hey Big Sis, just called to see what you were up to". I'm really going to miss her, she was always so upbeat it was catching. You just wished you had some of it. I know I'll see her again some day. Until then I'll

Even though I have only got to know Bonnie in this past year, as we became more active in GWRRA and more recently becoming assistant district diretors of Arkansas, I really enjoyed being around her because she was so full of life. I remember the last time I saw her was at the Wing Ding in Nashville and we were talking about how she gave her daughter an option when they were going to get married, money for a home or a big wedding. She was telling me this because she knew my daughter was getting married in the next few weeks after WingDing. She gave me some good ideas and things I wish I had done. Her passion for others and GWRRA always came through, I surely am sorry that I didn't get a chance to know her even more. Our prayers are with you John, hold on to the memories!

My prayers are with you all, John, Gale, Randy and babies. I saw Bonnie bustling through Artisans Alley a few months ago.....maybe in the Spring. She was heading one way and I the other. Bonnie never moved slowly, did she? I said, "I'll catch up with you in a minute to visit". We didn't meet up that day and now she is gone. I have fond memories of her great smile and exuberance for working in the children's shop and talking about Cole when there was only Cole. I appreciated seeing all the photos that were posted by GWRRA. Bonnie enjoyed talking about the bike trips she and John had planned or had just returned from. Now I know why... You could see what a great time she had with John and that group and I know how they will miss her. Anne

Our thoughts and prayers have been with you John this past week. It is hard to imagine the loss that you must feel.

One of the most recent memories we have of Bonnie is when we joined the District Staff for dinner at Mamacita's in Kerrville. As we watched Bonnie arrange her napkin and silverware on the table, she began explaining how she would never place her silverware on a bare table because you never knew what the table had been cleaned with, i.e. dirty dish cloth -- all those germs. She was very adamant about that and of course she was having a whole lot of fun explaining her reasoning, as only Bonnie could! She will always be remembered for her enthusiasm and joy for life. We will miss her.

I knew Bonnie and John from the bowling alley. I thought she was one of the prettiest, nicest, friendliest persons I had ever met. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone. I will miss seeing her.

I always enjoyed the days that I got to work with Bonnie at Traditions. She was funny, upbeat and kind. She always talked lovingly about her family, especially her "little man." 
Bonnie thoughts were about others. She'd call me to tell me that she'd put aside a purse or some shoes for me because she knew that I liked them. Even if she was not on the schedule, she'd come by with chocolate for Teresa and other goodies for those who were working. I remember one time that I came to the store to buy some shoes I really liked, and what do you know, they were in the back for me, already paid for by Bonnie! 
Bonnie, you are in the perfect position to really look over your family and friends. We are sorry to lose you so early, but we know that you are in the loving arms of Jesus, and with your dad. I feel so fortunate that you were part of my life, even though the time was short.

Losing someone we love is never easy to accept, and sometimes it seems as if the pain is almost too much to bear. I truly believe that your love for Bonnie will far outlast the pain of the grief that you are feeling. I believe that there is a place deep in your heart where memories of Bonnie will always live.......and one day those memories will be a tremendous comfort to you. Until you can smile again, please take comfort in knowing that your GWRRA family is thinking of you and praying for you in your time of sorrow. I had the opportunity to work with Bonnie at Artisans Alley. The things I enjoyed about her the most were: her love of family, sense of duty to help those in need, tireless pace when she worked, cheerful and encouraging manner, and her passion for life. I had not talked to Bonnie in several years and so I am so devastated to hear she is gone. Bonnie was extremely generous of her time and her friendship. She was extremely helpful when I was looking for a job and always encouraging to me, her family and her husband. "No" and "can't" were words Bonnie did not like to hear. There was always a way something could be accomplished if Bonnie set her mind to it. During my time with Bonnie, she dearly loved her mom & dad, her daughter, Gale, and her then "new" husband, John. She was so proud of everything Gale did and so very happy to be Mrs. John Simonick. Your loss hurts me more than I can express and I am sorry that the grandchildren will not be able to grow up with such a special and interesting grandmother. I'm sorry Bonnie never got to know that I, too, am a Marme now and that I still think about her and laugh at the way we used to giggle over silly stuff at work or raise holy bananas over some of the goofy things we had to deal with. We used to also laugh nervously sometimes about the way Bonnie would drive; her illegal u-turns and speeding come to mind. I had forgotten how much I missed her. We kept saying we would see each other again and it didn't happen. I'm sorry that I'm rambling. I just cannot think straight. God's blessings on the Simonick, Holland and Castle families. I worked with Bonnie at Traditions and knew her prior to that when she managed the children's shop. Bonnie loved her family dearly. She was always so happy and positive. She especially adored her grandchildren and was so thrilled to have a little girl to go with her precious Cole. The last time I saw Bonnie she came in Traditions and told me she had bought out all of the ribbons in Little Folks for Molly. She was beaming. John, Gale, Randy, Cole, and Molly, We have so many wonderful memories of Bonnie. She made our transition to San Antonio an easy one and we found that even though it was far away from our families, she made it feel like home. Our favorite memories were playing cards 'til late in the evening, making and drinking margaritas, trying new things--like cosmopolitans and martinis, going to Spurs games, tailgating before the Ohio State game at the Alamodome, and seeing how she would decorate for the holidays. We liked to laugh about how pristine the stove was. She was always excited when a new restaurant opened up so she could add their takeout menu to her collection. We enjoyed planning the Halloween party for the Quality group. I remember our trip to Garden Ridge, filling the second cart, and calling our husbands to ask..."What was the budget again?" They were so nervous--wondering what we were bringing home. They affectionately referred to it as "garbage ridge," but they couldn't wait to play with all the toys and gadgets we brought home. She would do anything for family and friends. I remember how she spoiled the kids when she used to work at Artisan's Alley and how she got Carly to model on the Great Day SA segment. Although it was only a quick moment on TV, they had so much fun. Ryan attended an end of the school year party last spring. He couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was. One of the events of the party was to go on a neighborhood scavenger hunt. The person who brought back the best item won a prize. Ryan was excited. The party was in John and Bonnie's neighborhood. He gathered a few of his guy friends and said, "Come with me. I know the best place to go." He rang the doorbell and Bonnie was home. In her usual spirit, she wanted to win. She said, "Come on, guys, get in," and she hauled Ryan and his friends back to the party in her brand new convertible. Unfortunately, since they didn't get to keep the car, they didn't win, but it didn't matter to Ryan. He thought it was very cool and talked about it for days. When we all got together, she would get a kick out of watching Cole and Nick. Cole took up with Nick, probably because he was the youngest of our three kids. He liked to tackle the boys, just like he was one of the big kids. I was envious of her energy and spirit. As so many others have said, she did always have a smile on her face. If she was in pain or hurting she would never let on. Bonnie... 
It won't be the same without you. It will be hard not to refer to johnnbonnie. You went together almost as if it were one word. You were an inspiration. When we think of you, we will always remember your kindness and generosity and the love you shared. You will truly be missed. John and Gale,

Bonnie was such a beautiful, passionate and radiant woman whose love for her husband was beyond any ordinary love.. Everything she did was done with passion and true dedication. With Bonnie, nothing was done half-way. Her involvement in the Goldwing club, her sincere support to our Spurs team and Malik Rose her favorite player and most of all to hear her talking about how she would take care of her husband was inspirational. It was refreshing to see someone with such passion for life that she happenned to share with her husband John in today's world where most people take everything for granted..Together they were eternally young.

I am so sorry to hear about Bonnie. I got to know sweet Bonnie when I worked at Traditions. I loved working with her for she kept me laughing with animated stories and her passion for Brighton. I have never known a woman who loved to give, but hated to receive as much as she did. To this day I carry a purse that she gave me when I left Traditions and each time I pick it up, I always see her sweet smile and hear her voice. I shall treasure it even more as you will with all your wonderful memories. I have been blessed having her in my life.

I met Bonnie Simonick when I was living in San Antonio. I was invited to an afternoon get together in the Simonick's house. What a lovely evening with Bonnie and John. Bonnie and I had a conversation years ago when we were all up in Lakewood. I had commented on the "excellent quality" of your jokes. She made a rather astute comment about them. She told me that the jokes were a barometer of how you were feeling. She would be concerned when you were not cracking them. I know that they would be hard to come by for awhile, but for all of us, Bonnie included, try to find them once again. My first wife passed away suddenly nearly 20 years ago. Because of that, I know that there is no words of solice that can truly dampen the pain. Please remember that even when it seems the darkest hour is on you, you have people around you who share your grief. Through the shared pain we can and will help you through this.

My favorite thought of Bonnie was her reaction to losing to a higher bidder at a fund raising auction for the SEA organization. She was bidding on an item and I waited until the last bid and raised her bid and I won. When she realized I had outbid her, her eyes grew large, that great smile she had swept her face, she pointed her finger at me and with a mixture of laughter and mock anger and threaten my life. Every time we saw each other after that, she point her finger at me again, hugged my neck and warned me to not cross her on an auction item again. I will forever see that smile, that finger pointing directly at me and hear that throaty laughter. John, you and Bonnie have been in my thoughts frequently the past several days. You and she will be in my prayers for a lifetime. Thank you for the opportunity to remember Bonnie in a personal way.

I was so impressed by her laughter and great sense of humor and was delighted by the comebacks she had to John's jokes. I remember thinking to myself: there is a lovely woman, so happy and content with life. I was touched by her friendliness and admired her spicy attitude towards life. I am happy to have met Bonnie.

Dear John - Hi, this is Jeannie Brinkman. Remember me, I was in QA at DPT up until last year 9/16/2005. I was visiting SAT this week and heard of Bonnie's passing. My husband Fritz and I just wanted to send our condolences to you and to your family. I only knew Bonnie through DPT events, but I do feel like I knew her through any conversations that you and I might have had throughout the years. I would think of her on certain occasions because I knew that she did not work and since I left DPT after having worked there for so long, it was quite an adjustment to not working at all. So from knowing that, I was able to gain inspiration from her knowing that there were other very capable women out there that made the choice I did, to not to be employed. 
I was so saddened to hear of this horrible accident and hope that you know that you have many many friends out there that are sending their thoughts and prayers your way. Even though Bonnie was my first cousin, I grew up in a younger generation. Bonnie was in the same age group as my older sisters, Diane and Debbie. I alway remember as a little girl going to my Aunt Dorthys house to visit, that Bonnie would be in her bedroom and She would not come out unless she had her make up on. I always thought to myself, Its just us! And when she would get her hair permed, the first thing she would do is go home and wash it. I was a little girl what did I know? When I got older, she had gale and my mom would babysit her and I would help out alot. I Loved Bonnie so much and I am truly going to miss her.

I had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with Bonnie at John Feik?s 60th Birthday party in San Antonio. Very quickly into my conversation with Bonnie I was captivated with her passion, love, and emotion for John and their joint interest of riding their Goldwing together. She spoke with great excitement about purchasing and surprising John with a new Goldwing. As she told me the story, I clearly saw a person that believed in her heart it is always better to give then to receive. On my way home, I remember thinking to myself what a wonderful relationship John and Bonnie must have and what an inspiring impact she had made on me that evening. We will never forget Bonnie and all the fun we had in our Saturday night bowling league. Bonnie was so full of life and always eager to laugh and have fun. She loved her family and always talked about John and her daughter and how proud of them she was. She will be greatly missed. She was much to young to die. Yes I continued to ride to spend time with my Dad but more than anything I rode with him because I felt truly welcome and at home. In a weird way Bonne helped me get closer to my Dad. I loved and cherished every moment I spent with her and John. I always looked forward to seeing her smile and talking to her. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. -- From a headstone in Ireland. Although I knew Bonnie for a very short time she made a lasting impression on me. She was a FRIEND to all!

The news of Bonnie passing has truly hit me hard. Though I was never able to ride with John and Bonnie, I was lucky enough to get to know them through their visits to the Chapter K-2 meetings, in Kerrville. In this couple I saw a friendship, love and respect seldom seen in relationships, in this day and time. With each visit I was struck by their spirit, easy smiles and love of the GWRRA. I do believe this organization has the special knack of bringing couples closer together. In their last couple of visits, to our meetings, I had the privilege to sit next to Bonnie and John. A memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. It amazes me how little things can take on a greater meaning, in times like these. At the July meeting of Chapter K-2 Bonnie won an interesting hummingbird feeder, which I admired. Oddly enough, later in the evening, I was happy to win the matching feeder. I thought it unusual that two folks sitting side by side would win similar items. Bonnie seemed truly happy that I won one of these unique feeders since I had admired hers. With the tragic news, that hummingbird feeder takes on a new meaning, for me. Each and every time I look at it I will, not only, think of Bonnie, but I will envision her endearing smile. It is my hope that John and the family will take comfort in knowing all of us in the GWRRA will forever have them in our thoughts and prayers.

I remember bowling with John and Bonnie. I thaught it was going to be hard for my wife and to make through me leaving for iraq this month. I will returne home to my family next year. Just as Bonnie has made her journey to her family. I will make sure B-co 449th air support battalion has a moment of silence in her memory. We thought of Bonnie not only as a fellow GWRRA family member and District Director, but as a friend. She was gentle, and sometimes shy, but always fun-loving. We will miss her.

We have very fond memories of Bonnie on her skates with her poodle skirt and making us all laugh & feel young again. We will all miss that great person in our lives.

We didn't know Bonnie that well, but after meeting her, we remember her smile that always seemed to be on her face. She was a fellow Goldwinger and she will be missed terribly in the association. John our thoughts and prayers are with you during this horrible time.

Bonnie was such a wonderful and fun person. I remember her being the pit crew for Barbie in the pine car races. This was when I realized how much fun a ralley could be and how much I wanted to be a part of the wonderful world of GWRRA. I know that Bonnie is in Heaven shaking things up. John if there is anything at all that you need, please know that you are surrounded by thousands of people that love you and Bonnie. We are all here for you, may GOD hold you in his loving arms while you go through this time in your life.

I met Bonnie at GWRRA events and grew to admire and appreciate her happy, ever helpful spirit. She brightened every event and room she entered, epimimizing the spirit of GWRRA. Bonnie will truely be missed. Rest with God, Bonnie. Our prayers are for your family.

Bonnie was a fun and loving person. I alway's loved being around her at rally's. She could make you smile at any time of the day. She will be missed.

Bonnie always lite up a room when entering. Her smile was contagious. I'll never forgot the first time I met her she asked where I worked, after telling her, I asked her the same question and her response was "My job is to take care of John". John and Bonnie picked us up to go to dinner while in San Antonio for Horizons and that's when we learned of Bonnie and Breeze's birthdays. I thought it was really her birthday, but it didn't take long to find out what was going on. What fun she always had, and always seemed to get even...never wanted to be out done or out witted by anyone. 
Bonnie will be remembered and missed dearly.

Bonnie was doing what she loved as she was taken from us. She loved John and her time spent with him on the motorcycle and time spent with her GWRRA family. She was always ready to party and had an infectious smile. She was forever in the background making faces as John and his trusty camera was taking pictures. Our beloved Bonnie was unexpectedly taken from us this past weekend. Bonnie was one of the most caring, warm and loving persons to ever walk on the face of this earth. Our loss is enormous. To know her was to love her. We never saw her for one moment when she didn?t have a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye... and it was that "twinkle" that really hooked you. If we were granted only one friend in life, everyone would have chosen her. We don?t think we ever ?officially? met Bonnie... we just kind of knew each other. Bonnie always made us feel welcome and as if we were the most important people in the room. She just had that way about her ? we will never forget her. Bonnie will always be remembered for her warm and wide smile. I'll never forget when she proudly described her process of purchasing of their newest Gold Wing at one of the Horizion training classes. She will be missed by many.

Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you John. We have fond memories and you and Bonnie from the first time we met you at a Texas District Staff meeting in Longview. We exchanged business cards; you were one of the new up and coming CDs and we were ACDs at the time. Chapter H won the Newsletter Competition and we thought that Bonnie had won the lottery. We watched as Chapter H flourished, guided through leadership and fun times as only Bonnie could do, and felt you would soon be going to District. The enthusiasm that Bonnie and you showed for GWRRA, by example, was contagious and showed that participation is the key to having fun; knowledge and safety come along for the ride. As our friendship grew through your support as fellow CDs, and later when you were our ADDs, was proof of your leadership and talent. We always looked forward to seeing Bonnie and what antics she might get the staff into or themed outfits she would wear. If there was cheerleading to do Bonnie was in the middle of it. No one was a stranger to her and she could throw out puns as good as the rest of them. Organization was her middle name and Ways and Means was her game. I remember attending my husband's christmas party every year feeling as I was out of place. Bonnie always made me feel welcome. She had a great way of making people feel at ease. She will be greatly missed. Diana Kindt

Had the honor to spend time with Bonnie and John on several occassions, most recently in Curacao. Bonnie was as usual, smiling, enjoying herself and the new acquaintances and friends around her. She brought even brighter days to the Caribbean island while she was there. She'll be greatly missed and always remembered by all those that met her.

I will always remember Bonnie with her beautiful smile and her friendly greetings. She seemed to know everyone and you would think you were the best thing that had happened to her when she greeted you. 
The last time I remember seeing her she was wearing maybe a dozen or more plastic diamond rings - advertising for the Denim & Diamonds upcoming rally in Kerrville. All I could think of that Saturday of the rally was that she had given me one of those rings and there I was lying in a hospital bed and didn't even make the rally. We never lose our loved ones as long as they are in our memories.

Sometimes it is difficult to understand the unfairness of life; it's not fair that someone so full of life and spirit should be taken away from us. But we do know that Bonnie has gone home to be with our Heavenly Father on the path he carved for her. Bonnie was a very warm and loving individual whose smile could warm you in a heartbeat. Deborah and I were fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend an evening with Johh and Bonnie on Saturday, August 5th, just a week before her death. John, a wonderful bass guitar player, had been playing music together with good friend Kevin Lee and I since John came to Texas in 1998. That evening, John and I played for nearly four hours while Deb and Bonnie chatted and enjoyed a bottle of Bonnie's favorite wine. It was a wonderful evening, and Bonnie was unusually subdued, happy and at peace. She said to Deborah several times how fortunate they both were to have husbands that loved them and to be living the lives they so much enjoyed. During a break in the music...I don't recall the context of the conversation...Bonnie made the comment that 'No one is guaranteed a tomorrow'. A week later, and Bonnie is gone, and Deb and I struggle to accept it. We will never forget our good times together. Bonnie's glass was always half full, and she always had a smile and a laugh. She will be greatly missed by many.

Every Day?s a Birthday 
Not sure how or why but the when and where is and will always be remembered. Being on Tx District and spread over the District, staff only comes together at a rally or staff meeting so we must make the most of the time together. At one such rally as some know my talking gets me up around at most of the restaurants after a rally talking?when out of nowhere Bonnie calls me back to table , it has suddenly become my birthday. I did not think much of it however this would happen at every meal or snack we as staff shared. I am not sure if Bonnie liked the cake and ice cream or just enjoyed seeing me grow old at each event. It wasn?t long until it was Bonnie having the birthday and each time the staff would be on their guard wondering who it would be this time. 
I can remember one weekend when John and Bonnie were hosting a Horizon Seminar in San Antonio and some of the other staff was in Wichita Falls tying up lose ends for the Rally. I had called John to see how things were going and he had informed me in the conservation that they are headed to eat, An idea come to mind and a plan was set into place. I called the restaurant were they were headed and told the manager I was a long lost brother of Bonnie and would not be in town to help celebrate her birthday, you can only guess what happened after that. Some the wait staff appeared at the table looking for the birthday girl, Yes, it was Bonnie they were looking for and the pictures I saw was worth all the FUN we had in this. It seemed after this we would call a truce but that still made the staff nervous. At every meal when the birthday song was played I would look to see where Bonnie was. 
This May as Carolyn and I stepped up to member and the staff gathered after the rally to eat again?Yes it was a birthday party for Bonnie and I can remember the smile I saw as the cake was set in front of her. I will forever see the ?smile? when I hear the ?Happy Birthday? song
