

Bradna Marie Barber Vardiman, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by loved ones. She was born on February 16, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Eula Marie Beverly Barber and Bradley Oscar Barber. She graduated from Killeen High School and attended the University of Texas. While attending UT, she met and married John Sanders Vardiman, her husband of sixty-one years. After her children started college, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree and went on to earn a master’s in counseling. She founded Beaumont Counseling Center, a private outpatient treatment office. Her favorite hobbies included gem trading and real estate investing. Her affiliations include Hamamas Sunday School Class at Trinity Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Jefferson County Medical Alliance, board member of “Some Other Place,” and Mary Howell Garden Club.
Bradna is predeceased by her husband, John Sanders Vardiman, M.D.; mother, Marie Barber; father, Bradley Barber; sister, Beverly Barber Conaway; and grandson, Benjamin Arthur Billingsley. She is survived by her son, Arnold Bradley Vardiman M.D., his wife, Tracy Blanchette Vardiman and their children, Phoebe Bay and Claude-Duval Noah; her daughter, Rose Marie Vardiman Billingsley, her husband, James Wade Billingsley, and their children Samuel Bradley, Joshua Wade and wife Grace Vaughan Billingsley; beloved cousin and niece; Anna Raynal Barber and Cathy Conaway Simpson, as well as treasured friends Jill Blanchette Berler and Jack Blanchette.
The family will gather at her place of rest for a private ceremony at the Barber Family Cemetery in Hughes Springs, Texas.
