Brenda and her identical twin sister were born to Evelyn and Alvin Raymond on January 2, 1942, in Houston, Texas. Brenda grew up in Houston, Texas, graduated from St Pius X High School and attended the University of Houston. While attending the University of Houston, she met her future husband, Mike Carew. They were blessed to enjoy 60 years of marriage spending the last 41 years of their married life in San Antonio raising their 2 children: Michael Carew, Jr and Christopher Carew. Brenda’s work career was primarily in the area of Property & Casualty insurance where she enjoyed 29 years with The Hartford Insurance Group in San Antonio. The Hartford recognized her work ethic and commitment to do a good job. She cherished her family and friends and always loved a good story. Brenda enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and gambling. There were many outings with her family until Mike’s ALS progressed. She retired from The Hartford and committed to be his caregiver.
Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Mike; her twin sister, Linda and her husband, Jack Rowland; her parents; grandparents; father and mother-in-law; great niece, Kaylee Carew; and great nephew, Mark Hopkins.
