

Brenda Fisher passed away June 21 at Legend Oaks Healthcare at Hospice Center in New Braunfels after a year and a half long battle with glioblastoma. She was born to Albert Jr. and Bernice Neubauer on December 4th, 1958. She is survived by her two children, Lauren and Weston Fisher, ages 23 and 20. Brenda was one of four children, and is survived by siblings Albert Neubauer III and Paula Stager.
Brenda was born in San Antonio, and was the first member of her family to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Incarnate Word College, now the University of the Incarnate Word. She continued her education earning her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas.
She met Thomas Fisher in 1992 when they were both studying medicine in Galveston. They married on September 26 1992, and moved to San Antonio after living in Friendswood and Fort Worth. In 1999, they divorced. Shortly thereafter, Brenda began working at the Audie L. Murphy VA as a nurse practitioner specializing in ENT treatment, and continued until her diagnosis in 2015.
Brenda is lovingly remembered by her friends and family as a caring physician, a devout Christian and member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and a compassionate, selfless mother, always focused on the well-being of her children.

ST. THOMAS EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Reverends Beth Wyndham and Chuck Woehler will be leading the service. She will be enshrined in the St. Thomas columbarium.
Her family asks that in lieu of flowers being sent to the service, small donations to the American Cancer Society be made instead.
