Brenda Diane Lockhart

Brenda Diane Lockhart, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on July 25, 1950, to parents Doreen Bradford and Aubrey Calvin Lockhart. Diane grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Churchill High School. She graduated from Texas Tech University, followed by a career in education.

She was a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, and dear friend to us all. Throughout her life, “Gammo” – as she was known to her grandchildren – was a tender-hearted woman who always had a smile or a laugh that would brighten the room. A passionate and dedicated teacher and history enthusiast, she thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent in the classroom with her students during her teaching career at several San Antonio public schools. She loved reading, college football, and spending time with dear friends and her family.

Diane is survived by her brother Gary Lockhart and his wife Bonnie, and their daughter Aimee Smith; her son James Killen and his wife Elizabeth; her granddaughters Taylor Ramirez and her husband Jason, Tanner Killen, and Abigail Parker; and her great-grandchildren Landon Archer, Julianna Ramirez, and Sofia Ramirez.

The family will receive friends at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
