Brig. Kenneth Ray Milam USAF Gen. Ret.

He was born December 25, 1929, in Uvalde, TX, to Kenneth and Adelene Saunders Milam. He graduated from Brackenridge High School; earned a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of New Mexico; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Chaminade College in Honolulu, Hawaii; earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management; and attended the Executive Management Program of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School.

He was commissioned in 1953. After attending pilot training, he served the next 3 years as a fighter pilot in Korea and Japan, and also served 2 tours in Vietnam. In November 1967, he went on leave status from the Air Force after being selected by 20th Century Fox to do the stunt flying and combat scenes from "Tora! Tora! Tora!," a motion picture documenting the attack on Pearl Harbor.

In March 1991, he married Claudia Lenore Kennamore. Together, they wintered aboard their 46' Down East Trawler in the Florida waters for 5 years and traveled the summer months in the cool Northwestern U.S., where she is from. In 1995, they decided to return to San Antonio and made their home in Windcrest, TX. He was a member of The Daedalians, The Quiet Birdman and The Air Force Association.

He was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Claudia L. Milam; beloved sons, Christopher F. Milam and wife, Lesya, and Lt. Col. Curtis S. Milam, USAF currently serving in Afghanistan and wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Alexander, Christiane, Constantine, Vera, Katie, Kendall and David; sister, Jean Milam Warden and husband, Rex; 2 nieces, several cousins and a host of friends.
