Brittany Leigh McCarthy (Ezell), Age 24, breathed her last in the early morning hours of December 29th 2016. Years of exploitation, including both human and sex trafficking wore on Britta’s self-esteem. After battling several years of addiction, often appearing to have found her way forward, she is finally at peace inside the walls of her strong tower, God and Christ our Lord.
Britta is survived by her husband Brandon, their children Brody and Claire, her parents Charles and Elsa Ezell; and her elder brother, Trevor.
Born in Edmond Oklahoma, Britta was passionate about loving and giving to anyone she met. She was a free spirit, fiercely independent, yet compassionate beyond belief. Anchored with insecurity and extreme sensitivity, she managed to approach everyday believing the best in others at a level that could best described as child-like, naïve, even hazardous. If you can imagine a young girl, twirling and laughing in the sunshine, you can understand her soul. Britta was in pursuit of her Esthetician’s license, and was at her happiest while helping others in need, giving a facial, listening to friends and clients while sharing encouraging words.
Even with a life cut short, Britta’s adventures and travels enabled her to build more friendships from coast to coast than you could imagine. Her favorite flower was the modest daisy, and she often talked about her dream homemaker life with a husband provider, watching big brother playing football and protecting his little sister, while her favorite sport would be dance. Unfortunately, these dreams will need to live on without her. We will all miss her graciousness, gentleness, her quick wit, inner beauty, and that huge smile!
