It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Wayne Robbins, a beloved husband, father, friend, and leader of the cattle industry through Beefmasters Breeders United. After a life dedicated to faith, family, and his profession, Bruce joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in eternal rest on December 7, 2025.
Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on February 5, 1960, Bruce was a dedicated and accomplished consultant who built a remarkable career in the cattle industry. Bruce attended Oklahoma State University (OSU) and was consistently included in the Dean’s Honor Roll, a member of Block and Briddle, and coordinated the Children’s Barnyard and Little International showmanship contest. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from OSU in 1982. Upon graduation, Bruce managed the Tulsa, Oklahoma stockyards from 1982 – 1983, joined Thompson Cattle Marketing, Inc. from 1983 – 1990, and Beefmasters Breeders United from 1990 – 1994.
Bruce founded Robbins Cattle Marketing and Consulting in July 1994, and it was the hallmark and legacy of his professional career. Bruce faithfully served nearly 100 clients for 31 years, where the sheer weight and consequence of his counsel was not achieved through the title of consultant, but through an unrivalled combination of intellectual rigor, unwavering ethics, persistent dedication, and an uncompromising commitment to provide value to his clients. Bruce was not only a leader in his field but also a mentor and friend to many. He took great pride in the growth and development of his colleagues. His guidance and support have left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him.
Outside of his professional life, Bruce was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Annette Robbins; his beloved son, Clay Robbins; his treasured daughter-in-law, Samantha Robbins; his cherished grandson, Oliver Robbins; his surrogate family, Will and Abby Jones; and a wide circle of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Bruce was a caring and loving person, who loved generously. While he was a devoted and loving father to his own child, his incredible capacity for love and guidance did not stop at his own doorstep. To so many, he was a second father, a mentor, and a steadfast source of wisdom and support. He had a unique gift for loving others unconditionally, offering a listening ear without judgment, and providing the kind of encouragement that made you believe in yourself. His home was a haven to others, his advice a guiding lighthouse, and his heart big enough for everyone he brought into his fold. Whether you were a friend of his child, a colleague, or simply someone who needed guidance, he would take you under his wing and treat you as one of his own. The void he leaves is felt not only by his family but by the countless individuals whose lives he shaped and who will forever carry the lessons he taught and the unconditional love he so freely gave. He wasn't just a great man; he was a father to all who needed one.
A celebration of life will be held at Ursuline Academy at 300 Augusta St, San Antonio, Texas 78205 on Thursday, December 18th at 2:00 P.M. Flowers are appreciated, and the family also offers that donations as an alternative to flowers to be made to the Junior Beefmaster Breeders Association in Bruce’s memory. Bruce’s legacy of kindness, commitment to others, professionalism, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.
