Caral R. Taylor, age 75, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away suddenly on November 20, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, New York, on March 2, 1950, daughter of the late Esther Kimble and Donald G. Reik. She is survived by her sister, Pamela (Winslow) Schrank; her son, Matthew (Chyril) Taylor; her daughter, April (Matt) Hoffman; her three grandchildren, Beckham, Noelle, and Watson Taylor; former spouse, P. David Taylor; along with several other members of her extended family.
With deep love and gratitude, we remember a remarkable woman whose warmth touched everyone she met. Caral was a dedicated military spouse for many years, moving across the globe while creating a loving home wherever she lived. Though she cherished each location, San Antonio became a place she proudly called home, where she cultivated lifelong friendships. Known for her bright smile and her gift for gab, she had a natural way of turning strangers into friends and was always ready for a conversation.
Caral’s life was marked by compassion, dedication, and deep love for her family and friends. She worked as a dental assistant at Fort Sam Houston Budge Dental Clinic, where her friendly demeanor and warm conversations helped put patients at ease. After retirement, she volunteered as a Caremobile driver at Brooke Army Medical Center, providing transportation for patients and visitors with the same caring spirit she brought to every aspect of her life. Never one to sit still, Caral seemed to have boundless energy. She could often be found walking the neighborhood with her beloved dog Laney, attending water aerobics and other fitness classes, or participating in Bible study. She was also an avid reader, finding joy and escape in the pages of her books. Caral leaves behind countless memories of gentle conversations, shared laughter, and the comforting, heartfelt presence she offered to all. Her legacy is one of connection, compassion, and the ability to make everyone around her feel valued, welcomed, and loved.
