Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Carl was our brother and we enjoyed him very much. He always attended the family activities and loved to be at all the family gatherings. Carl enjoyed the school events, holiday parties, birthdays, or anything that was family oriented. We miss him very much. Carl loved us and we loved him.

Uncle Carl.........I will miss and always love you. I enjoyed the long conversations we had over life and politics. As I sit here pondering what to say. One of the things that always comes to mind is how you are and always will be a wonderful loving kind man to myself and my family. You always made us pray before meals, and sometimes I felt as though a prayer was definitely needed after the meal, I had just consumed. We will always remember Carl as a loving husband, father and an adoring grandfather. Harold and I were co-grandparents with Carl and JoAnn of Shaun,Colin and Donovan. There was never a time that he wasn't there for the boy's. Whether it was a soccer game, baseball game or a trip to the zoo Carl was there with his camera. The kids will have so many great memories of their Grand-Pa. Their eyes lit up every time they saw him because he made each one feel so special. We will all miss Carl so much but we will always keep his love and many memories in our hearts and the hearts of his darling grandchildren.

We met Carl & Joann when their son, Chris, married our niece, Michele. We were taken by Carl's gentle, kind, and inclusive nature. His love of family and his love of sports Texas football were two topics that we enjoyed talking to him about and he was extremely loyal to both. We send our thoughts and love to Joann and the rest of the Besch family and know that the spirit of Carl lives on through the lives of those he touched.

I was a city employee when Carl came to work in the City Attorney's Back Tax Office. I wrote many receipts for his client's tax payments. I left the City Tax Office in 1966, but continued to have contact with Carl. Later when he established his law firm my husband and I had him do all of our legal work. In 1993 we were unable to see our two grandsons and in 1994 he was able to get a temporary court order so we could see them. In 1996 it was made permanent and we had to use it in court many times to see our grandsons. Our younger grandson was 18 in Dec 08 which then did away with the court order. However, from our relationship with our grandson he now has contact with us. This relationship would never have been possible if not for Carl's diligent and dedicated work. My husband, Tommie and I honor Carl for his work and dedication to us. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time.

I was saddened by the loss of my Uncle Carl. I will always remember him as a kind and gentle soul. My fondest memories of him are at mealtime when he would give the blessing. It was inspiring! Aunt Joann, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Love, Karen
