Carlos “Charlie” R. Hoyos, Jr passed away at the age of 84 in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. He was born on October 6, 1935 to Carlos Lopez Hoyos and Isabel Ramirez Hoyos. He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Carlos B. Hoyos, III. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years; Ofelia Hoyos Son: Randy B. Hoyos (Dana); grandchildren: Krystal Delacruz (Jose), Katherine Ozuna (Michael), Steven Gagne, Sydney Cheyenne Hoyos (Antonio Gutierrez); great-grandchildren: Jackie Delacruz, Joslyn Delacruz, Carla Delacruz, Nathanial Hoyos, Noah Hoyos, Nina Hoyos, Destiny Gagne; daughter-in-law: Cindy Hoyos; brother: Alex Hoyos; sister: Hope Rios; and other family members and friends.
Charlie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He adored his family dearly specially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He adored his wife dearly he adored their yearly anniversary dinners at Hung Fong Restaurant in San Antonio where they had their first date. He was an avid hunter, fisherman. He had a lifelong truck driver where he dedicated 55 years of service without a single accident. In fact, he received an award by Governor Abbott for his excellent driving record. Charlie was taken too soon from us but we will never forget the light he brought in our lives.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 from 6pm-9pm at Sunset Funeral Home with a rosary at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 10:30am at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz Rd., San Antonio, TX 78210 with interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
