Carlota grew up in Hebbronville and graduated from High School in 1949. She eventually moved to San Antonio where she spent most of her adult life. She primarily worked in banking (loans) at SSFCU and USAA. Carlota loved quilting, gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles (In Pen!).
At one time, Carlota was part of a quilting bee for Mac Arthur Park Church of Christ who made quilts for those who were elderly , frail, and ill. She will greatly be missed by her family and friends, but her memory will be cherished through her quilts.
Carlota is survived by her daughters; Marissa Grimes and Darlene Johannis and brother, Manuel Arnoldo Pena Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Arnoldo Pena Sr.; mother, Esperanza Pena; and brother, Leopoldo Pena.
The family receiving guests on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238, followed by a Celebration of Life Service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Carlota's memory to Alzheimer Association and Susan G. Komen for the Cure
