Carmen attended Burbank High School in 1965. She met Armando Pastrano Gonzales as a teenagers while working for San Antonio Youth Organization supervising children. A friendship started and blossomed to their marriage on 29 April 1967. Together they raised two children. Carmen was a big supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 9174). She was a Post Auxiliary Madame President and later became a VFW District 20 Madame Auxiliary President representing San Antonio, Texas.
Carmen will be reunited in heaven with her parents and grandson. Her memory will forever live in her loving husband of 55 years. She is survived by her husband and two children, Armando S. Gonzales Jr. and Yvonne Mata, seven grandchildren and numerous great grand children two sisters and three brothers.
A visitation for Carmen will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A rosary service will occur Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 22, 2022 from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A graveside service will occur Monday, August 22, 2022 from 11:15 PM to 11:45 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78227.
