Carmen C. Gutierrez

Carmen, a lifelong resident of San Antonio, TX was born on January 6, 1939. She was a graduate of Lanier High School and a proud servant to God. Carmen woke up every morning choosing to be happy; she was energetic, faithful, spiritual, gracious and generous. Loved by all and adored by her family. She modeled a life well lived and will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, Adolfo Cristo, mother Esperanza Gutierrez, Brother Gilbert Cristo, Sister Irene Hernandez, Son Pedro Gonzales Jr., and husband Manuel Gutierrez.

She is survived by her beloved children Gilbert Gonzales, Hope Rodriguez (Roque), Jesus Gonzales, Anna Sanchez (Freddie), Ricardo Gonzales (Edith), Jessica Gonzales (Daniel). Her sisters Gloria Almanza (Alfredo) and Julia Diaz (Gilbert). Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Carmen loved her family and friends very much, and enjoyed her time with everyone she kept in contact with as she never met a stranger.

Carmen worked for SAISD as a Pre-Kinder assistant at various campuses for over twenty years, and truly enjoyed working with the children. She especially loved when the children would move up in grades, and come back to visit her for a smile and a hug.

Carmen lived a life full of family, faith and love and keeping her memory alive there will be a celebration of life with light refreshments at the Mariposa Event Center located at 6109 Callaghan Rd SATX 78228 from 3:30 – 5:30pm following the Graveside Service.

A visitation for Carmen will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home (Cupples Road) with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 12:00pm at Christ the King Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
