Let us celebrate the life of our Beloved Carole Ann. She departed from this world on January 30th, 2008 at the age of 56, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on September 8th 1951, in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School she studied to become a licensed vocational nurse and found her professional calling.
Always thirsting for knowledge, she graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio with a Bachelors degree in Nursing in 1980.
Wanting to serve her country, she was commissioned as Second LT in the Army Nurse Corps Reserves in 1985. She was called to active duty for both Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 5501st US Army Hospital. She recalled these years as her finest in nursing.
She continued caring for others until the very end.
She received a ceremonial pin for 30 years of service from Methodist Healthcare System on January 11, 2008.
She is preceded in death by her parents Idell Ruth and James Louis Findley. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Ott; sister, Sheryl Hegedus and husband Daryl, brother, William Bill Findley and wife Amy; three cousins, three nieces, one nephew and their 4 children collectively.
Special thanks to Dr. White, Dr. Davis, Dr. Cardenas and Associates, Sheryl Bonecutter, CTRC, the nurses and ancillary staff at the Methodist Hospital who took wonderful care of her throughout her illness.
Vitas Hospice employees will heartfeltly remain in our prayers.
She will be greatly missed as a sister, mother and dear friend.
