

On April 6, 2018, Carolyn Herbert Taylor of The Woodlands, Texas, died at the age of 88. Carolyn was born on August 3, 1929, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, to Clyde and Ruby Herbert. Carolyn attended Tulsa University where she met John Reinhard Taylor of Glendive, Montana. They married in 1951 and while raising three children, they made job-related moves from Texas to Kansas then back to Texas. Carolyn enjoyed her life as a wife, mother, and elementary art teacher. She was an accomplished watercolor artist and ran a small art business featuring her watercolor paintings. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years and her parents, Carolyn is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Susan and her husband, Dr. Patrick M. Palmer of San Antonio, Texas, daughter Cynthia Trumbo, and son John David Taylor, both of The Woodlands, Texas. She also leaves her sister, Julia Jean McMahon of Kingwood, Texas, twin sister Marolyn Crawford of Nokesville, Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carolyn was especially fond of her grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Trumbo and Patrick Michael Palmer II. Carolyn's home was always filled with her love of art and music. She was caring, fun-loving and creative, and will be missed by all who knew her.
