On Sunday, February 28, 2021, Mrs. Carolyne Louise Williams went home to be with Lord Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Williams of 36 years; parents, Collice C. Sr. and Lena Kennedy; brother, Collice C. Kennedy, Jr. and other loved ones.
Born and raised in Brighton, Alabama, Carolyne was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Brighton, Alabama, at an early age. She was a faithful member, and serviced as Sunday School Recording Secretary and on the Usher Board.
A smart and popular student, she graduated from Brighton High School and attended Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. With her beautiful penmanship, she worked part-time in the courts taking short-hand. Carolyne would later retire as an insurance underwriter.
Carolyne moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where she met and married Phil, who served in the U.S. Army. In love and appreciating life, military orders relocated them several times to include a tour of duty in Germany before they settled down in San Antonio, Texas, where they were blessed with a son, Shawn M. Williams. Years later, Landon, their grandson was born and was the apple of their eye.
Carolyne joined Resurrection Baptist Church in Schertz, Texas. She was an active member and worked in various ministries. She had a deep devotion to the church, as she would often invite others to listen to the service online.
Carolyne enjoyed fellowshipping with everyone. She would organize spectacular social events for her friends, who affectionately called her, Carol and always had a way of making everyone feel extra special. When discussing a problem with her, she gave her undivided attention and you would receive a realistic answer; often times already knowing the answer, but accepting it from her. She was gifted with an eye for photography and would snap picture after picture. Some of her other hobbies were needle point, coordinating family reunions and designing family scrapbooks, playing (and WINNING) at bingo, themed home décor and cooking, just to name a few.
Carolyne is survived by siblings Bobby, Bertha, Warren (Linda), Lorraine (Gary), Denise, Anthony, Janet and Antjuan; nieces and nephews Demetrious, Eric (Monica), Jeffery, Tara (Alfonso), Marquis (Dan), Romero, Carlton, Reginald II, Collice (Virginese), Kyle, Timia, Lorraine and Violet; god-child Jasmine, special friends Arthur, Mary, Marie, Cindy, Amanda (Josh), Dominique and a host of other relatives and many close friends.
Our beloved Carolyne, you will surely be missed, yet forever in our hearts.
