

Cecile was born on August 4, 1957 in San Antonio, TX to Arthur and Yolanda Marrott. She attended Poteet High school and subsequently San Antonio College where she met her husband, Joseph Funari. Cecile pursued nursing and worked in the medical field as an RN and Nursing Supervisor. She was an outstanding nurse but beyond that talent, she also cultivated life-long friendships throughout her professional career.
Cecile always focused on family first which flourished in her devotion as mother, wife, sister and friend. She cherished time spent with her daughters and their families. Becoming a grandmother was a wish come true, and Madison Anderson defied the odds to become her miracle grandbaby. Cecile and Joe would often times join forces to create lasting memories together with their granddaughter.
Cecile exhibited immense strength and bravery throughout her battle with cancer. She spent many years proactively maintaining her health and was able to live her life to the fullest despite her ongoing health crisis. Cecile thrived when learning new skills and was encouraged to join a fly fishing organization, Casting for Recovery. She immensely enjoyed her time fly fishing and was even known to kiss her catch of the day as was the custom.
Cecile leaves as her legacy two children: Amber Anderson (Kevin Anderson) and Shara Funari-Minter (Edward Minter IV). Granddaughter Madison Kimberlyn Anderson. She also leaves her sisters Henrietta, Virginia, Beverly and Laura. She will be missed by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cecile was preceded in death by Arthur Marrott (father), Yolanda Serna Marrott (mother), Lawrence Marrott (brother) and Jacqueline Borders (niece).
Cecile will be inurned in a private ceremony. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 17th at 3pm at Crestview Baptist Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cecile Marrott's life.
