Celia Hernandez Martinez

DECEMBER 9, 1934-DECEMBER 11, 2014

Celia Hernandez Martinez, age 80 born in San Antonio and lived in San Antonio, was born to Arthur and Basilia Martinez.

She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014 and now rejoicing with family who went before her. Celia was a beloved sister of Rebecca Rodriguez & Francis Arzola, both of San Antonio; loving aunt to numerous nieces & nephews. She was a great aunt & great-great aunt who was happiest when surrounded by her nieces and nephews and their children. She cared so deeply for her family and showed it by always taking care of the needs of others before her own.

Celia was the one who always remembered the birthdays of all family members, and there were many. Her favorite pastime was playing Bingo and sharing stories about her upbringing. Celia was a longtime member of Church of God Seventh Day.

She was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Basilia Martinez; sisters Diamantina Moore, Rosa Saucedo, Mary Alice Rodriguez & brothers Fred Martinez and Tomas Martinez. We would like to especially express gratitude to members of our family-the Cameros and Vegas-for their love and support throughout the years.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18 from 6-7 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
