He attended San Antonio Academy and Alamo Heights High School. During his college years, he joined the Up With People singing group. Charles was currently the General Manager of The Freeman Company Audio Visual in Austin.
Having a generous heart and wanting to help others, he enjoyed volunteering with the Palmer Drug Abuse Program, American Cancer Society and Special Olympics.
Charles also worked with the San Antonio Rodeo and traveled with the entertainment industry throughout his life.
A genuine inspiration for others, Charles was truly loved and will be dearly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Charles Robert Burns.
Charles is survived by his wife, Sara Bush Burns; children, Megan C. Burns-Keller and husband, Bradley and Matthew McMillan Burns; mother, Jettie McMillan Orrison; siblings, Patricia Louise Moore and Stephen McMillan Burns; many nieces and nephews.
